This year I went to the Gothenberg Book Fair in Sweden for the first time. It was excellent! As well as the fair itself I did a couple of events in bookshops, and one in a school. Everyone was so friendly and appreciative - that staff at Bokfabriken, especially my minder Kristin, and all the fans. The standard of English there is very good - I'm told this is because Swedish television broadcasts English programmes in the original language, not dubbed or subtitled - so it was really easy to have conversations with the fans.
I didn't have much time to see Gothenberg, because I was so busy, but I got the impression of a city full of trees. And everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I'd love to do this again sometime.
